Let’s Grow Together
Get the support you need to build your best life.
Growth and healing don’t happen on their own; they take understanding, connection, and intentional effort.
Together, we’ll explore the roots of your struggles, discover new perspectives, and develop a toolkit to help you overcome obstacles and create meaningful change in your life and relationships.
Therapy Services
I offer online sessions for individuals, couples, and families, helping you build closer relationships, connect more deeply, and grow together. I believe in clients taking an active role in the therapy process, guiding you through difficult moments while empowering you to make lasting changes.
Every human is unique, and so are the challenges we face in our relationships and personal lives.
Choose from three specialized therapy options designed to meet you where you are:
Individual Therapy
Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Individual therapy offers a personalized space for self-reflection, healing, and growth. Whether you're working through anxiety, navigating life transitions, or seeking to better understand yourself, we’ll uncover patterns, explore your emotions, and develop practical tools to manage stress and live more authentically. Together, we’ll build a path toward a more fulfilled and empowered you.
Couples Therapy
At the heart of every strong relationship is a secure emotional bond. In couples therapy, we’ll use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you and your partner understand and reshape the emotional patterns that drive your connection. EFT focuses on deepening emotional responsiveness, healing relational wounds, and fostering a sense of safety and trust between partners. Whether you're experiencing recurring conflict, distance, or difficulty expressing vulnerability, we’ll work on creating a stronger, more resilient emotional foundation. The result? A deep and lasting closeness and intimacy.
Family Therapy
Families are complex systems. When challenges arise, they can affect everyone involved. Family therapy focuses on improving communication, healing past wounds, and creating a stronger, more cohesive family unit. I specialize in helping families–particularly those with adult children–that are facing transitions or relational difficulties. Together, we’ll address the root causes of conflict, rebuild trust, and nurture a more harmonious and supportive family dynamic.
About Me
Chaya Bukiet, LMFT
My greatest fulfillment lies in helping people nurture healthier, more satisfying lives and relationships.
I’m Chaya Bukiet, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in both individual and relationship counseling.
My greatest fulfillment lies in helping people nurture healthier, more satisfying lives and relationships.
I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves–all parts of themselves, including those they are proud of and those they might hide away. Along the process, we learn to be compassionately curious about ourselves and others, which is the first step toward building lasting change.
I’m trained in The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). My personal approach to therapy combines a balance of warmth, compassion, and professionalism that help clients feel safe to get vulnerable and take up space.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia with my husband and three children in 2020.
When I’m not working with clients, you can find me spending time with my family, reading multiple books at once, cooking, or finding time to move my body.
My Approach
I view therapy as a joint journey.
I believe in looking at mental health through a broader, more systemic lens. What’s happening in your life and relationships, and how are these factors influencing the way you feel? This allows us to look for–and target–foundational issues affecting your mental health.
I practice what I call “professional compassionate therapy,” showing up with warmth, compassion and curiosity. This provides a safe, sturdy, and non-judgmental space that allows you to unpack your story and understand how it shows up in your life today.
We begin with an assessment, taking time to explore what’s happening in your life and what’s standing in the way of fulfillment.
My goal is to help you transform conflict and challenges into opportunities for growth and deeper connection—within yourself, in your relationships, or with your family.
I’ll be honest: the work isn't always easy, but I’ll be here to guide you through it. With my expertise, curiosity, empathy, and my own lived, embodied experience of this work, it is my honor to hold you through your own healing.
Methodology
I apply an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of theories and methodologies that are tailored to meet your unique needs and circumstances.
Some of the modalities I find most helpful for clients include psychodynamic, systemic, narrative, relational, attachment theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses on creating secure emotional bonds and improving relationship dynamics. This helps people better understand their emotional worlds, the function of their triggers, and how certain patterns, dynamics, and behaviors that may have helped them earlier on in life might now be a vulnerability. EFT is especially helpful in couples counseling.
The Process
1
Schedule a Consultation
Take the first step toward change with a free consultation. During this 10-minute phone call, we’ll discuss your needs, goals, and any questions you may have about the therapy process. This is also when I will share a bit about my practice, modalities, and anything else I feel can help guide us in moving forward with your therapy.
2
Lay the Groundwork
During our first session, we’ll delve into your unique experiences and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This is your opportunity to share your story. Together, we’ll identify the areas where you’d like to see growth and change. It’s also a chance for us to get to know each other and determine if we’re a good fit for one another.
3
Begin Your Journey
Once we’ve established an initial relationship, we’ll set up a regular session schedule that works for you. I’ll guide you through the therapeutic process, providing support, tools, and strategies to help you navigate challenges and foster meaningful connections in your life.
Wondering what to expect?
Here are some answers to common questions.
-
It’s normal to feel nervous about starting therapy. Like anything new, it can feel overwhelming at first. I am here to help you identify your goals and find healthy ways to work towards them. Sometimes things get harder before they get easier—but they do get easier.
I cannot guarantee that you will feel great after each session, but I can assure you that I will be by your side to support you through the uncomfortable.
You can expect me to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and offer reflections and suggestions when appropriate.
My ultimate goal as your therapist is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to explore and discuss anything that feels important to you.
-
The only way to know for sure is to have a session. Most people get a good sense of whether I am the right professional for them within the first two sessions. Feel free to explore my website, Psychology Today profile, and professional Instagram @cbconnecttherapy to get a feel for who I am as a therapist.
-
All therapy sessions are conducted virtually, via Zoom.
-
Online therapy is convenient, effective, and safe. However, it might not be the right choice for everyone. Online therapy works best for those who are not in immediate crisis, are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private space in which to conduct their sessions.
-
I provide therapy for adults who reside in Florida, Georgia, and New York. My clients are seeking individual, couples, or family therapy, and are not at any immediate mental health risk.
-
Sessions are typically 50 minutes.
75- and 90- minute sessions are available upon request.
-
We will typically meet once a week. This is important in helping us gain momentum so we can build up on our work together and see results. We will then assess your progress and jointly make the decision to taper down to bi-weekly or monthly sessions.
-
I approach therapy as a long-term commitment. On average, clients work with me for a period of at least six months to several years.
-
The fee for one 50-minute session is $200.
Payment will be collected at the time of service and charged via a secure, HIPAA-compliant credit card processing platform.
I offer sliding scale pricing to a limited number of individual clients on an as-needed basis. If costs are a barrier to receiving services, please reach out to inquire for more details.
-
No, I do not accept insurance at this time. I will collect payment in full from you at the time of service. If you have a PPO-type plan and want to submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement, I am happy to provide a superbill for you.
Please note that submitting an insurance claim will require me to provide a formal mental health diagnosis.
